God's call to the Journey

Matthew 11:28-30 "Come unto Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, And I will give you rest.

All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

Uniquely Human

Read: Genesis 3:1-24

Man was uniquely created for a loving relationship with God. God accomplished this by creating man different from all other creations. He made man in His own image so man could relate with God. Man was given intelligence, the ability to reason. Man was given emotion, the ability to love. Man was given freewill, the ability to choose. And man was sinless so he could dwell with the holy, sinless God.

Sadly, man chose to rebel against his very Creator. He rejected God's authority by disobeying God's command. This resulted in the immediate death of man's spirit and inevitable death of man's body. God banished man from His presence and condemned all men to future judgment because of their sin.

Subsequent to that first act of rebellion, men could only reproduce children with the same rebellious nature who commit acts of sin true to their nature. Creation also suffers from the consequences of man's rebellion resulting in a broken world of suffering, disease, war, and death.

Man, without God, is incomplete, broken, and doomed. God in His immense love provided for mans atonement and restoration through His Son, Jesus Christ.
